1. 간토 축제 Kanto Festival
일본 3대 연등 축제 중 하나. 쌀가마니 모양의 1만 개의 연등이 흔들거리며, 오곡 풍요와 액막이를 기원한다.약 12m의 간토(등롱을 매단 긴 장대)를 어깨나 이마로 떠받치는 젊은 사람들이 거리를 천천히 행진하며 환상적인 빛의 강을 이룬다.
One of the biggest lantern festivals in Japan, 10,000 paper lanterns representing rice bags sway in the air to pray for an abundant harvest and ward off bad luck. Young people march around balancing 12m long poles on their shoulders and foreheads to create a mysterious river of light.

2. 오마가리 불꽃 축제 Omagari Firework Festival
일류 불꽃놀이 전문가만의 기술을 선보이는 일본 3대 불꽃 축제. 밤하늘 가득히 불꽃이 만발하고, 휘황찬란한 빛의 경연이 볼거리. 디자인과 색채, 창의력, 이야기 등 기술과 예술로 경쟁한다.
Only the best firework technicians display their skills in one of the three greatest firework festivals in Japan. The elegant performances of light blooming like flowers in the night sky are a worthy sight to behold. Technicians compete against each other with designs, colors, creativity and stories.

3. 기사카타 Kisakata
저 마쓰오 바쇼도 "안쪽의 좁은 길"에서 읊을 정도로 아름다웠다던 경치는 200년 전 지진으로 해저가 융기하여 현재와 같은 풍경이 되었다. 지금도 논에 물이 차면 과거 석호였던 때의 모습을 방불케 한다.
This area was once so beautiful that Matsuo Basho praised it in his work “Oku no Hosomichi.” However, an earthquake around 200 years ago lifted the seabed to create the current landscape. Even now, when water fills the rice fields, Kisakata looks as it did when it was a lagoon.

4. 오모노가와(아라야 해변 공원) Omonogawa (Araya Seaside Park)
바다와 접하고 있는 공원으로 명물 "모모사다 개구리"가 방문객을 애교로 맞는다.황량한 해변에는 거대한 풍차가 바닷바람을 받아 천천히 도는 노스탤지아적인 기분에 빠져들 수 있다.
Visitors to this park facing the sea of Japan are charmingly greeted by the famous “Momosada Frog” statue. A giant windmill on the desolate beach spins slowly in the ocean breeze and creates a nostalgic mood.

5. 모토타키 복류수 Mototaki Falls
조카이산의 이끼 낀 바위를 흘러내리는 복류수. 선명한 녹색의 바위를 기는 듯 여러 겹으로 겹치고 하얀빛의 선이 되어 흐른다. 때로는 안개가 일체를 감싸는 그윽하며 아름답고 신비로운 광경이 된다.
This waterfall from the underground runoff of Mt. Chokai runs over moss-covered rocks. Its multiple lines of white light seem to crawl as they flow over the lush green rocks. Mist sometimes covers everything and creates a subtle, mysterious beauty.

6. 하치보다이 Hachibodai Lookout
화산 폭발 때문에 생긴 화산호, 이치노메가타, 니노메가타와 간푸산,혼산 그리고 오우산맥 등 녹음이 우거진 산들을 한눈에 볼 수 있다. 바다에서 불어오는 바람이 상쾌하게 빠져나와 더위를 삭혀준다.
From this lookout you can see green mountains such as Mt. Kampu, Mt. Motoyama, and the Ou mountains, as well as lakes Ichinomegata and Ninomegata, both crater lakes formed by volcanic eruptions. A refreshing breeze from the Sea of Japan reaches the lookout to provide relief from the heat.
