It’s one of the snowiest areas in Japan and has distinct beautiful sceneries. Different sights can be enjoyed in each season such as cherry blossoms in Hirosaki, the Nebuta Festival in Aomori, the autumn leaves at Oirase Mountain Stream, and the snow rime at Mt. Hakkodasan.

1. 히로사키성 Hirosaki Castle
일본 3대 벚꽃 축제의 하나인 히로사키 벚꽃 축제를 개최. 약 300m에 이르는 벚꽃 터널과 우아한 수양벚나무, 수령 135년으로 일본에서 가장 오래된 왕벚나무가 가지를 펼치면서 아름다운 꽃을 피운다.
Hirosaki Castle is home to the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival—one Japan’s top three cherry blossom festivals. It features a 300-meter-long cherry blossom tunnel, elegant weeping cherry trees, and the oldest Yoshino cherry tree in Japan—a 135-year-old tree with wide-spreading branches and beautiful flowers.z

2. 이와키가와 하천공원 Iwakigawa Kasen Park
반류 다리 옆에 자리한 공원으로, 알려지지 않은 벚꽃 명소. 잔설이 남아 있는 이와키산을 배경으로 100그루 정도의 벚나무가 아름답게 꽃을 피우는 경치는 최고의 조망. 쓰가루 샤미센과 요사코이 춤이 공연되는 벚꽃 축제로 활기에 넘친다.
Located at the foot of Banryu Bridge, this park is a little-known great place to see cherry blossoms. The view of 100 fully blooming cherry blossom trees against the backdrop of Mount Iwaki dotted with snow is truly stunning. A cherry blossom festival is also held here, where you can enjoy live Tsugaru shamisen and yosakoi dance performances.

3. 아오이케 연못 Aoike Pond
세계유산 시라카미 산지의 북서부에 자리한 세계 최대의 너도밤나무 원생림을 지나면 나타나는 신비로운 파란 연못. 의젓한 기품을 느끼게 하는 코발트블루빛 수면은 나뭇잎 사이로 비치는 햇살을 받아 보석처럼 아름다움을 뽐낸다.
Located on the northwestern side of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Shirakami-Sanchi is a mysterious, blue pond nestled in one of the world’s largest primeval beech forests. The elegant, cobalt blue water looks like a beautiful jewel as the sunlight filtering through trees reflects off its surface.

4. 고노선 Gono Line
가와베역부터 히가시노시로역까지 약 147.2km. 일본해(동해)의 파도치는 물가를 스치듯이 달리는 '파도가 덮치는 노선'으로서 인기. 자연미 넘치는 간가라 동굴과 코끼리 바위, 비녀 바위 등 계속해서 바뀌는 차창 밖 풍경을 즐기고 싶다.
Gono Line is a 147.2-kilometer railway line that stretches from Kawabe Station to Higashi-Noshiro Station. The popular rail line runs so close to the shoreline of the Sea of Japan that spray from the waves sometimes reaches the tracks. Enjoy the ever-changing view from the window as it passes by fantastically shaped rocks in the water and other beautiful natural sights.
